We keep our cookie usage minimal. This page explains every cookie this site sets, why it exists, and how to remove it if you want to.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember information between page loads — for example, whether you have accepted a consent notice or which language you prefer. Cookies cannot execute code or carry viruses.
We also refer to “similar technologies” in this policy, which includes localStorage and sessionStorage — browser storage that works in a similar way to cookies but is never transmitted to our servers.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- __Host-next-auth.csrf-token (if authentication is introduced) — a CSRF security token that prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Session duration. Set by our server.
- Vercel deployment cookies — Vercel (our hosting provider) may set short-lived cookies for routing and DDoS mitigation. These contain no personal data.
2.2 Analytics (Cookie-Free)
We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics — either Plausible Analytics or Vercel Analytics — to understand aggregate traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are most visited, which countries visitors come from). These tools:
- Do not set any cookies on your device.
- Do not track you across websites.
- Do not create individual user profiles.
- Process only anonymised, aggregated data.
- Are fully GDPR/CCPA compliant without requiring a consent banner.
Because these tools set no cookies, they are not subject to cookie-consent requirements.
2.3 Cookies We Do Not Use
We explicitly do not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Third-party tracking or behavioural profiling cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- A/B testing tools that set persistent identifiers
3. Third-Party Cookies
At present, we do not load any third-party scripts that set cookies. If this changes — for example, if we embed a YouTube video or use an external chat widget — we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent before loading those scripts.
4. How Long Cookies Last
- Session cookies — exist only while your browser tab is open and are deleted when you close it.
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period. Currently, no persistent cookies are intentionally set by our application code.
5. How to Control Cookies
5.1 Browser Settings
All modern browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies. Below are links to the cookie settings for the most popular browsers:
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.
5.2 Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising, our site behaves consistently regardless of whether DNT is enabled.
6. Your Rights
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or California, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and restrict the processing of personal data collected via cookies. Since we use only strictly necessary cookies (which contain no personal data) and cookieless analytics, these rights are largely satisfied by design.
For any privacy concerns, email us at privacy@woodbenchos.com.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookies or similar technologies in the future — particularly any that fall outside the “strictly necessary” category — we will update this policy and seek your consent where required by law before setting those cookies.
